Searcy Morgan

Searcy Morgan is Founder & CEO of Matterlab. All through elementary school, she insisted on being a “writer” when she grew up. She founded and edited the literary journal in college and actively considered a career in journalism, but the then recruiter for Teach For America on the Rice campus was far too convincing for her to pursue any other path. She was born in the Mississippi Delta, started her teaching career in East Los Angeles, and later worked under former US Secretary of Education John King in New York. Alongside team meetings, partner calls, presentations, volunteering, and chasing around two busy little boys, she carves out as much time as possible for reading and writing - two things she has loved her whole life.
