The Opportunity
Finding Home ATX, established in Spring 2021, emerged as a critical initiative to address homelessness across three counties in the Austin, Texas region. The organization serves as a connector between philanthropic leaders, public officials, corporate leaders, and service providers, working to create an equitable response system to homelessness.
The organization needed to strengthen its position as a central convener in Austin’s homelessness response ecosystem while managing complex stakeholder relationships across public and private sectors. This required developing a clear communication strategy that could effectively engage diverse audiences, from city officials and corporate leaders to service providers and funders. The organization sought strategic guidance to refine its identity, improve stakeholder engagement, and maximize the impact of its convening role.
The Results
Through strategic partnerships, enhanced communication strategies, and collaborative efforts, Finding Home ATX has made significant progress, reaching 90% of its ambitious $515 million fundraising goal and becoming a pivotal connector within Austin’s homelessness response ecosystem. The organization now successfully facilitates bi-weekly coalition meetings with public officials, non-profit leaders, and funders, while managing high-stakes convenings on the state of the homelessness response system. Additionally, they hold convening to align leaders in the space on a cohesive homelessness response strategy. Their new positioning statement clearly articulates their role as a unifying force, leading to stronger partnerships and more effective resource allocation across the three-county region. This strategic clarity has contributed to their remarkable fundraising success, demonstrating the power of effective communication and strategic positioning in advancing social change.
